文化行｜殿氣現場 Live in Belief

The future of culture isn’t far away, it’s unfolding here, in the moments we’re living.

Over centuries of continual alluvial buildup and restless movement, Changhua has unfolded its fields, gathered around temple forecourts, and seen its streets and lanes extend outward—until civilization gradually settled into culture. Across three hundred years of history as a county, mountains and waters took form, faith became a living field, and craftsmanship accumulated through time. From this, a distinct qi—a vital cultural resonance unique to Changhua—was shaped. This qi is deep and unostentatious; it rests upon the land, flows through the hands of artisans, and gathers at the moments where people meet.

Following this layered field of energy, we arrive at the “Hall” (Dian)—a place of faith and also a space for gathering, exchange, and shared emotion. Here, the visible and the invisible intertwine with qi, revealing the cultural force that has accumulated over generations, and allowing the contours of future culture to begin emerging into view.

Tracing water back to its source, the exhibition follows the cultural veins shaped by this resonance of qi, portraying how belief and daily life, craft and the sounds of the marketplace, order and desire interweave here layer by layer. This is not only a retrospective gaze, but also an experimental inquiry into contemporary life and the future of culture. The future of culture does not lie in some distant realm—it unfolds in the very site we are living through. “The Hall in Motion” condenses the invisible cultural qi of Changhua and, through the participation of design, sketches out the possible cultural futures that belong uniquely to Changhua.

文化的未來不在遙遠之境，而在你我正經歷的現場

彰化，在不斷沖積與躁動的百年間，田野鋪展、廟埕聚合、街巷蔓延，從文明沉澱為文化。建縣三百年，山水成形、信仰成場、技藝積累，於是彰化獨有的氣韻被形塑。這股氣，深沈不求福華，覆於土地，流動於職人指間，凝聚於眾人交會之間。

循著這般堆疊的氣場，我們抵達「殿」—— 既是信仰之所，也是人群聚合、情感交換的空間，與無形的「氣」相互纏繞，浮現出地方長年累積的文化能量，也讓未來的文化輪廓，在此顯影。

展覽以水溯源，捕捉氣韻構築的文化脈絡，描繪信仰與民生、工藝與市聲、秩序與欲望如何層層交織於此；不僅是回望，也是對當代生活與文化未來的實驗性提問。文化的未來不在遙遠之境，而在你我正經歷的現場。《殿氣現場》凝練彰化看不見的文化氣韻，透過設計的參與，勾勒屬於彰化的文化未來可能性。
